Supervisor, Product Development Engineering - Desktop SEM

Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks a Supervisor for Product Development Engineering to lead a multidisciplinary team of systems and mechanical engineers in the Desktop Scanning Electron Microscopy organization. The role combines people leadership with technical contribution, overseeing product development from architecture through validation and release while supporting the expansion of the Brno Development Center.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary team of systems and mechanical engineers
• Drive Desktop SEM product development from architecture through integration, validation, and release
• Provide technical leadership during design reviews, system integration, and complex problem solving
• Plan engineering resources and priorities aligned with product roadmaps and business objectives
• Collaborate with Software, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Quality, and Service teams to meet performance and manufacturability targets

Requirements

• University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related technical field
• Extensive experience in complex, high-tech product development
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and developing engineers
• Strong understanding of complete product development lifecycle from design through validation and release
• Experience with product integration, verification, validation, and manufacturing introduction
• Experience working with suppliers and component qualification
• Strong analytical, structured problem-solving, and English communication skills
